Mixed Choir is for all students who are new to singing. This choir is a great option for students who are wanting to give singing a try. It will start at the very beginning of “how to sing” and prepare singers to advance to other choirs. This choir is composed of all grades.
A Cappella is a select Non-Varsity Treble Ensemble at Vandegrift High School. This group is comprised of advanced underclassmen trebles. Many of these students take private lessons throughout the year.
Chorale Treble is a Varsity Treble Choir that is composed of mostly upperclassmen that are very skilled singers. This choir is a diverse group of students and sings at a high level. Sometimes they can be found singing in a mixed setting with the Chorale Tenor Bass Choir.
Chorale Tenor Bass is a Varsity Tenor Bass Choir that is composed of mostly upperclassmen and auditioned freshman that are advanced in their abilities. Many of these students take voice lessons and are involved in a variety of campus activities. They can also sometimes be found singing in a mixed setting with the Chorale Treble Choir.
Chamber is made up of around 20 treble & tenor bass singers that are also in Chorale. Students in this class are in two choir periods and they are the very best singers and sight readers. Chamber sings the national anthem at all home football games and competes at the Madrigal Festival every Spring in San Antonio.
